Susanne White, Caregiver Warrior

Caregiving is like going to war; every day we fight to keep our loved ones safe and supported. We fight for their dignity and quality of life. Like warriors, caregivers are fearless, courageous, and passionate about protecting those they care for. As one Caregiver Warrior to another, I offer advice, helpful tips, and strategies based on the experience, strength, and hope I found while surviving my own caregiving journey. I’m working on exciting new content including a book and podcast, so be sure to subscribe for the latest Caregiver Warrior content you won’t want to miss. I’m so happy you’re here and hope that by sharing my story, I can help you feel less alone. I hope you find guidance and motivation to take care of yourself as you take care of others. Much love, Susanne The Caregiver Warrior community is a place for caregivers to learn how to survive the caregiving journey with grace and empowerment. "Warriors are not what you think of as warriors. The warrior is not someone who fights....The warrior is one who sacrifices himself for the good of others. His task is to take care of the elderly, the defenseless, those who cannot provide for themselves, and above all, the children, the future of humanity." - Sitting Bull

What many of us do not realize when we begin our caregiving journey is that we unconsciously believe we can fix those we love and care for and everything around them. While this is a powerful desire, to begin with, it has pros and cons that help and hurt us. When reality hits home that fixing someone is rarely possible, it can be both painful and a relief.
